Turnspire
A chess puzzle in three beats
Dashed letter: home · solid ring: arrived · dot: legal move
Move in rook → bishop → knight order until all three reach their lettered homes.
A small nudge
Rules & keyboard
Tap a dotted square to move the highlighted piece. The turn order repeats: rook, bishop, knight. You cannot pass, even when the active piece is already home. If it has no moves, undo. Any move count wins, on any beat; the minimum is an optional challenge.
Rook (R): any distance straight. Bishop (B): any distance diagonally. Both are blocked by pieces and striped stone. Knight (N): an L, two squares then one sideways; it jumps over everything. Nothing can land on a piece or stone.
Unlike chess, all three pieces are yours, with a fixed turn order. There are no captures, opponents, check, or special moves. Homes do not lock pieces; all three must be occupied together. A dashed letter marks each home; a solid ring means its piece has arrived.
Tab into the board; use arrow keys to choose a square and Enter or Space to move. Home/End focuses the first/last square. Escape focuses the active piece. U undoes; R resets. Undo is unlimited, including after a win. Every level is available in the menu.
