Tap an ivory piece, then a dotted square. King K ♚: one square in any direction. Rook R ♜: any distance straight. Bishop B ♝: any distance diagonally. Knight N ♞: an L, two squares then one; it jumps over pieces.

Dark pieces marked × are fixed sentries. They threaten using the same chess movements. All pieces block rook and bishop lines. Your escorts may stand under attack to shield the king; the king must stay safe after every move, including escort moves.

Unlike a chess match, there are no captures, enemy turns, castling or checkmate. Any piece may move repeatedly. Nothing can land on an occupied square. Only the king needs to reach the star; any move count wins. Targets are proven shortest solutions.

Small × marks show sentry threats, looking past the king so its next step is clear. Dots always show fully legal moves. Tab into the board, use arrow keys to focus a square, then Enter or Space to select or move. Escape deselects; U undoes; R resets. Undo is unlimited.
