Ashrank
Leave a path behindMove each chess piece to its matching seal; every square it leaves turns to stone.
Dotted letter = seal · striped square = stone · × = your trail
How to play & keyboard
Tap a piece, then a dotted square. R / ♜ rook: any distance along a row or column. B / ♝ bishop: any distance diagonally. N / ♞ knight: two squares in one direction and one sideways.
Only the square you leave becomes stone, not the squares you cross. Rooks and bishops cannot pass through pieces or stone. Knights jump over both. Nothing can land on stone or an occupied square. A dashed letter is that piece’s destination; ✓ means it is home.
Unlike chess, all pieces belong to you: no captures, opponents, check, or special moves. Pieces can leave their seals, but doing so destroys the seal’s square, making that attempt impossible. Undo is unlimited. Any move count wins; the measured minimum is optional.
Tab into the board; arrow keys explore squares. Enter / Space selects and moves. Escape cancels. U undoes; R resets. All ten studies are available in the selector.
